FORREST KIRK
Forrest Kirk joined us on the project in July 2022. Kirk's paintings capture the unspoken hierarchal structures in our cities and the thrum of imbalance and disquiet this creates in its people. Expanding his investigation of urban environments to London, Kirk explored the neighbouring areas on his daily run to Waterlow Park. The culminating piece HighGate (2022) captures the changing environment of North London as the city leads into Highgate Village. Gold-gilded gates span the abstract mass, figures emerging from motifs found in North London's diverse architecture. The faceless and unidentifiable figures speak to inescapable mass identity and the erasure of individuality that comes with intertwined experiences.
