The Fores Project is delighted to host an open studio event for our current artists in residence, Sagarika Sundaram and Koshiro Akiyama. This event offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into each artist’s practice and marks the conclusion of our 2025 residency program (so please join us in celebration).

Sagarika Sundaram

Sagarika Sundaram b.1986, Kolkata, India, lives and works in New York City, USA. Through the cross-hatching and layering of fibres, Sundaram builds surfaces rich with colour, depth, and movement. Her practice explores themes of home, migration, ecology, and collective memory, often drawing from Indian craft traditions and her early experiences with domestic textile rituals, such as washing and folding saris.

Sundaram received her MFA in Textiles from Parsons, New York, 2020. She has exhibited internationally and been featured in Vogue India. Her solo exhibition, ‘Release’ is currently on view at Alison Jacques, London, 14th October - 13th December.
